Ultherapy is high intensity ultrasound that stimulates collagen production and restores elasticity to the skin. Although results can last 2-3 years, I have found that there is inter-patient variability with longevity of results. I have repeated it in some patients as early as 6 months but these cases are the exception and not the rule.
Anytime you stimulate the skin and apply energy to the deeper layer of cells, it will have a positive rejuvenating effect. Especially if you have had positive results in the past.
Like anything else, your ability to stimulate this collagen production does slow down as we get older. And the collagen that was stimulated 2 years ago had been reduced in quantity. So I always tell my patients it’s best to start with/repeat Ultherapy at a younger age in order to experience maximized effect and better overall results.
